'Driving Academy' is the first multi course safe and technical driving school in Greece. The main goal of this academy is to promote driving safety while giving both the novice and the more advanced drivers a chance to experience driving pleasure and practice in a controlled environment.
Always keen to help promote professional drifting in Europe, D1GB arranged for a special guest to be flown over to the academy to give his guidance and experience to the school and its instructors, the guest was none other than the Number 1 Japanese D1 driver Yasuyuki Kazama, with drifting fast becoming among the most popular pastimes for many Greek drivers, D1GB will be working closely with the Driving Academy in an official capacity to help move the scene forward in Greece and nurture a new wave of professional drift drivers.

Thomas Papapaschos, spokesman for the new academy gave D1GB an insight into what the academy is all about:-
'As a starting point the academy will include two different courses each having three stages, each stage appropriate for drivers of different abilities.
The first course is named “Drift Techniques”. Participating drivers will learn how to control their cars in dangerous situations that usually lead to an accident, and also acquire the confidence to control their cars under the limits of side movement. This set of training is also suitable for the experienced driver that is interested in learning advanced drift techniques with modern and demanding high power cars. Also it is suitable for the driver who aims to enter drift racing.
The second course is named “Passion 2 drive” and will have a more practical and theoretical approach in the driving of modern advanced cars. It will include all the necessary skills, like limit braking, correct line, both on the road and on circuit, car control, and different driving techniques over a wide of driving conditions. It is related to the advanced drivers with demanding cars, which pursue driving experiences without putting in danger either them selves or others on the road. Drivers that want to improve their lap times in the circuits can be benefited too. The academy is carefully preparing other seminar sets according to the needs of the Greek automotive world.

The methodology of the academy is highly entertaining for the driver and is mostly based in practice time and modern technology. Especially for the Drift Techniques course, the methodology has been constructed in close relation, and with the necessary guidance, from D1GP champion of 2005, Mr. Yasuyuki Kazama, who is one of the leading drift drivers of the world at the moment. All of the academy instructors have an excellent background either as race drivers or automotive journalists and also they had the privilege to have a special training seminar with Mr. Kazama. The academy instructors will be able to use the most advanced technology including telemetry (Vbox, Driftbox), skid pads, skid cars and specially designed cameras. In addition, the driving academy trainees will have the opportunity to see them selves, in a specially made DVD, after the completion of their training, in order to improve from the analysis their mistakes.
